Le bellezze del mercato di San Lorenzo

È difficile pensare di descrivere le numerose bellezze del mercato di San Lorenzo in un articolo di poche righe ma ci proviamo, perché questo spazio espositivo merita almeno una visita, se vi trovate a Firenze, ed è uno dei luoghi più particolari e tipici dove incontrare sapori e profumi genuinamente toscani, fare shopping e avere una cornice d’eccezione per il vostro ultimo selfie!

Le due sezioni del mercato

 

Il Mercato di San Lorenzo per l’esattezza è diviso in due parti: una al chiuso, nota come Mercato Centrale e dedicata soprattutto al cibo, a botteghe, attività di ristorazione e fast food, e l’altra sezione all’aperto, articolata intorno all’edificio del Mercato Centrale, una struttura in vetro e ghisa realizzata verso la fine dell’800 da Giuseppe Mengoni, lo stesso architetto della Galleria Vittorio Emanuele di Milano.

Un’esperienza di gusto

 

Frutta e verdura, pane e pasticceria, cioccolato e miele, pesce fresco, fritto e polpette, carne e salumi, formaggi, pizza e pasta fresca, enoteca, lampredotto, sorbetti e gelati… Tutte le attività del Mercato Centrale sono condotte da commercianti artigiani con in comune la passione per la loro professione. Passare di qui è un autentico tuffo nella tradizione, nella buona cucina toscana e italiana, con i suoi ingredienti di qualità, un luogo per buongustai che vogliano vivere un esperienza unica, di gusto.

Può essere una buona idea, tra un museo e una chiesa, infilare nel vostro programma di marcia la visita al Mercato di San Lorenzo, magari verso l’ora di pranzo o anche per cena, così da assaporare le prelibatezze della cucina toscana (sono circa 500 i posti a sedere disponibili all’interno) e lasciarvi tentare dai vari assaggi.

L’artigianato locale qui è davvero in bella mostra, non pare un azzardo definirlo “il paradiso della pelle”.

Permetteteci una dritta: se siete intenzionati a fare acquisti seriamente, fatevi prima un lista di ciò che cercate, se dovete fare dei regali, e concedetevi il tempo necessario per dare un’occhiata alle varie bancarelle prima di decidere cosa comprare, e prevedete un “extra budget” per un ultimo affare, solo per voi!

The beauties of the San Lorenzo market

It is difficult to think of describing the many beauties of the San Lorenzo market in an article of a few lines but we try, because this exhibition space deserves at least one visit, if you are in Florence, and is one of the most particular and typical places where you can meet flavors and genuinely Tuscan perfumes, shopping and having an exceptional setting for your last selfie!

The two sections of the market

The San Lorenzo Market is exactly divided into two parts: one inside, known as the Central Market and dedicated mainly to food, shops, restaurants and fast food, and the other outdoor section, organized around to the Central Market building, a glass and cast-iron structure built towards the end of the 19th century by Giuseppe Mengoni, the architect of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan.
